Bidra med feedbackI was staying over night in Volda, and was very pleased to find this cozy restaurant with decent food and friendly staff. There isn't a huge amount to choose from in small Norwegian towns like Volda, but My Kitchen seems to make the most out of it's central location and cosy but spacious premises. They have a large stage in one corner for concerts and video-game tournaments. They also have a taco buffet on Friday's. I was there on a Friday, and the taco buffet looked pretty decent, but I decided to try some of their Chinese food anyway. There were a lot of dishes on the menu, covering most of the standard stuff one expects in a Norwegian Chinese, as well as some Tai-inspired dishes. There was even a decent selection of wines and beers, and a special dish with lobster (possibly seasonal, as they can only be fished legally until the end of December in Norway). I ate a Hong Kong inspired wok with chicken, beef and king prawns. I enjoyed it, along with some very nice jasmine tea. Before I visited this restaurant, I had been a bit weary of the video-gaming and taco buffet thing, but once I was there I realised that this makes the restaurant a relevant and welcoming and inclusive cultural hub in the town centre. The atmosphere was very chilled, the staff were friendly in a relaxed way, and the interior was cozy in a homely and unpretentious way.
The staff is the kindest, and there's student prices for a lot of things on the menu I always enjoy being at My kitchen
Were here with family. Total bullsh$t. Chicken gongbao with salted nuts, 5 slices of chicken and alot of onions. Biff chin siu, 4 slices of beef and full of carrots and onions. Pekin soup smells like viniger, not possible to eat at all.5start restaurant? Ppl, give me a break, it doesnt even worth one star.
I came to an almost empty restaurant, one table with diners and one youth playing something loudly on his phone. Took a while to make contact with the only employee at site. Ordered a pad Thai that arrived some 25 mins later. I heard the ding of a microwave from the kitchen which is not a good sign. The dish was edible but not more. Soggy noodles, limp vegetables and pieces of chicken, and the flavour was nothing like the good pad Thais I’ve eaten before.
This sushi is probably the best you will find in the west (of Norway, at least)! The tempura shrimps with sweet sour was also great. Welcoming staff.
