I'm a native and have been shopping at cameron trading for years, but today they have lost my business and business of my family. my mother and I came with our two little dogs in a stroller (as most of the shops on austin ave are dog friendly), the dogs were quiet and well kept. then the woman behind the opposite panic and said they did not allow dogs because the cat would attack them, then from the corner came a black and white cat. we rushed out the door quickly, but before we got out, the cat scratched my mother on the side and pulled blood. I'm a cat. but this cat is clearly a threat and should not allow to strip freely in the load. Moreover, if they insist on keeping this creature roaming around the load around, it should be at least one kind of warning sign that there is not. very disappointed by cameron trading co and will not return.
I visited a few weeks ago and asked a male staff member if I could see some old padlocks to buy. I waited for 30 minutes, and when I was about to leave, he told me he wanted her to see them. Frustrated, I declined. I tried again on another visit, but this time it was a woman who treated me the same way. I'm done; I won't be going back. It's clear they aren't interested in making sales.
However, when I got to the cash register, the older man behind the counter told me that the older yardsticks were actually $5 each. I pointed out the sign and explained where I found the yardsticks, mentioning that it clearly stated $2. He then told me that he couldn’t technically sell the yardsticks without a badge, which was something he needed to manage with his vendor. Things escalated when I disagreed with him about the pricing and decided not to buy them. I still had about seven yardsticks I wanted to purchase, but he refused to sell them to me. Instead, he yelled at me to leave the store! I couldn’t believe his behavior and exclaimed that he shouldn’t treat his customers this way, but he continued to shout at me to get out. I was so appalled by his actions that I left the store but returned shortly after to take a photo of him, which I have included in this review. When he noticed me, he called me “trash” and a “nasty little lady” multiple times. I told him I would be leaving a negative review on all social media platforms, and he claimed he would welcome my feedback. I’ll be waiting for that!
I used to live in this area, but my experience with the owner has been quite negative. He treats customers poorly and is extremely rude. After his unprofessional behavior towards my mother, I've decided that I will no longer patronize his establishment. I won't be returning, and I will make sure to share my experience with others.
