Tamura's Market - Wahiawā

Tamura's is a small town grocery store with a handful of locations distributed on the island. Nothing beautiful, but it gets 5 stars for a reason. Special items. They bring various foods from frozen, packed- they deliver!! I was addicted to various BBQ chips (my favorites like Stubbs, and loved the Detroit Frozen Pizza (please bring back!!! But today I will tell you about my favorite. LI HING LEMON PEEL GUMMY BEARS. I had all the different brands from all different places, and this is the hands below THE BEST in my humble opinion. I started to overthrow these ruthless bears for a while, but I never noticed mentioning them. I'm sorry. Better late than never right? No matter, they are the perfect ratio of Li-Hing and lemon peel on each bear. I don't know how they do it, but there are no “naked” bears in there. (I really hate it when they are naked!!! Lol And like the company name, Hawaiian addictions. You're really addicted. Not cheap special price at $7 per bag. Regularly near $10 but worth it. You have Japanese so I love buying Jarritos Mexican Sodas for Taco Tuesday are a regular favorite. My family loves Tamara's brand Chili Pepper Water and her poke. A lot of delicious things. As always we support local so if your passing thru stop by!

Food is awesome, can always find what you need. Prices are about the same all over the isles. The Poke here is phenomenal.

After searching best 4+ starred place on Oahu for several months prior to pandemic, I know that this place never skimps on taste of POKE. Try the Pearl City one also, recently moved before pandemic.

Tamura's Wahiawa is only about 2 miles away from our home and one of two food stores in Wahiawa. We like to shop at Tamura's because their prices are normally lower than Foodland and they also carry a lot of gourmet items that other stores nearby do not have on hand. We have a dog that is on a grain-free diet and she loves frozen chicken feet as a daily treat. It is not easy to find chicken feet but Tamura's almost always carries it. We also noticed that their fishcake is cheaper everyday price than Foodland's sale price. We discovered that a couple of weeks ago when we bought fishcake at Foodland and came to Tamura's to finish the rest of our shopping. The employees at Tamura's are also really very nice and we enjoy our visits whenever we shop there. If you haven't stopped by you might do yourself a favor and check them out. You may be surprised when you discover hard to find items stocked on their shelves. This is an update on my previous review and I've taken away one star because I specifically went in to buy the Tamura's brand snacks to send to two family members on the mainland. Sadly, there were no Li Hing Granny Apples, Li hing Cherry, or Li Hing Lychee gummy candy. Family members from Oregon and TN all love those but there wasn't even a space for them on the regular shelf like before. I hate to think Tamura's has stopped selling those because now I have to look for them elsewhere. That snack aisle is one we frequent on a regular basis because we have to put together care packages almost every month. Please bring back those missing items.

It's a great store for any of your needs. The I guess you would call a deli is awesome. You can get Poki Bowls and other fresh seafood items. Good selection of wines and other alcohol. Very friendly and courteous employees. Enjoy shopping at Tamura's
