The George Tavern - Wallingford

Car parking is terrible, people just dump their cars anywhere, over the white lines etc. Not many choices on the menu, no table service. Very disappointed.

Really fabulous location. Very clean function room. Lovely bar areas and friendly professional staff. Excellent courtyard area and stage.

We stayed here for just the one night, the room was a good size clean and had everything we needed. It's the staff at this hotel that really make it one to return to, from Amy on reception who was just so helpful and friendly the bar staff and the lovely Shannon that served our breakfast we'll be back in November.

Stayed Saturday night before last and had a lovely stay. Room very pretty and quaint with wooden beams and fireplace and although facing onto the road (which in fairness I was warned about as there was a wedding on and only that room was available) was quite quiet. Staff friendly. Breakfast a bit muddled but came in the end. Location perfect (but watch out for stiff car parking fines) and courtyard is delightful. Would definitely recommend.

Just had a weekend here. Everything was perfect.Pleasant room, comfortable beds, spotlessly clean , and a bath! So good to have a bath. Breakfasts were good and the young people who served it were charming and helpful. Location excellent right in the heart of town but not noisy. Thank you
