Clyde's Grill And - Walpole

We had the Carolina steak tips and the chicken Caesar pizza, as a carry out order. The steak was cooked well and the Carolina Gold sauce was great. Mashed potatoes and coleslaw were great. The pizza was cooked well and tasted ok, the chicken was shredded too much as to be stringy. My experience with the service took this down to two stars overall. The child working the front counter could barely contain her negativity. Upon walking in, she was curt and when I asked about a takeout menu, she simply pointed at the wall. While I was waiting, I heard her have multiple private conversations with other workers in public areas of the restaurant. She was only helped or provided support from the two other workers sitting at the front when she was obviously overwhelmed or on the phone. I observed that other takeout orders were put in a large paper bag; mine (small pizza box and entree container) was simply handed to me. The paid-for drink was not provided to me, but I could not have juggled the food and drink at the same time anyway. I came back for the 20oz soda and, after the staff acted put out that I had asked for what had been paid for, I was given two kids plastic cups. When we opened the takeout container for the entree, everything was shoved in the box, and not everything was packed separately. This means the delicious Carolina sauce got all over everything, including the outside of the side dish containers. All in all, I will not be visiting this restaurant again.

Went in for lunch while on business. We don’t have much time and they were extremely accommodating knowing that we had a short period of time. They gave me the wrong sandwich but bent over backwards to ensure I was happy. I just wish we had got to go back to eat here again. Food was excellent, try the fried chicken sandwich or pulled pork! Staying at the Fairfield Inn , Walpole , great place to stay but no bar . A short walk out of the hotel and next door is Clyde’s Grill and Bar . Cosy bar , restaurant area and a wooden horse , what more could you want ! . Wide range of craft ales and lagers , spirits galore including Hendricks Gin which impressed the missus . Food was superb , we had some Spring Onion Strings and a Pizza , all reasonably priced . Finally a word about the staff , very friendly and helpful , as were the customers. We will return ! PS Their shepherds pie is made with beef !! Tut tut shepherds herd sheep !

Everything was delicious and prepared to perfection. The service was equally impressive, earning another perfect score of 5; the staff was attentive and friendly, making sure we felt welcome throughout our meal. The atmosphere was fantastic as well, also deserving a 5—it's a charming and comfortable setting that enhances the overall dining experience. With the price per person averaging around $20–30, it's a great value for such high-quality food and service. Highly recommend!
