Bidra med feedback--- This was, without a doubt, the worst service we have ever encountered. The owner displays a completely unacceptable level of racism, rudeness, and erratic behavior. The online menu was inaccurate, which created significant problems for our reservation of 18 people. Upon arrival, the only main options available were either two meat bowls or the $79 pit master plate, which, to our surprise, was not served on a plate. We arrived at 2 PM, but they mistakenly thought our reservation was for 1 PM based on a text message confirmation. The food was unorganized; some guests had single orders, while others had the pit master boards. The waitstaff were polite but seemed entirely unaware of the menu and what they were serving. Our food arrived cold, with the beans and mac and cheese being particularly soggy. The pit master plate didn't even come on a plate! The meat was tender but lacked a smoky flavor and didn’t have the usual smoke ring around the brisket—suggesting it might have been boiled with some liquid smoke rather than properly smoked. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, the owner approached us with an extremely rude attitude, insisting we were responsible for the delays when we clearly were not. An argument ensued, and to make a long story short, we ended up paying our bill, which was around $800, and left with our food in takeout containers—one of which was roughly knocked off the table by the owner. Although she apologized and offered us some flaxwein, it felt insincere. This experience was a complete waste of our time and money, especially as we were trying to support a small local business. We won’t be returning. Regarding the comment about our booking being late: we had a reservation for 2 PM, arrived on time, and placed our order at 2:35 PM after struggling to understand the menu. By 3:45 PM, we were still waiting for the meat, while everything else had arrived separately and cold. We left without trying the scallops due to their unappetizing taste. The reason you were open longer is that your service was incredibly slow. We never threatened to leave without paying; we simply stated that we would pay for what we had eaten since the meat had not arrived. The reaction from the staff was to shout across the restaurant, and they even threatened to call the police while taking photos of our cars—an incredibly unprofessional response, especially after sending our children there. To all potential customers, be wary of this owner and her aggressive demeanor, particularly if you are not white. --- I hope this captures your experience while addressing the various issues you faced.
The owner overheard our complaints and rushed to our table. When we tried to voice our concerns, she seemed offended and refused to engage in a constructive conversation. I believe that if we had addressed these issues privately, without other customers present, the situation would have been handled differently. They market themselves as an American BBQ restaurant, yet the owner claimed that we were not in America, implying that they do not adhere to American standards. When she finally brought out the rest of our food, she slammed it on the table and insisted we pay, even though we had already attempted to settle the bill amidst her shouting. One of the staff members mentioned that this kind of behavior was not uncommon at this establishment. Things escalated when the owner began taking photos of our vehicles and even followed our children to the parking lot, harassing them. She threatened to call the police while yelling at us to leave, which frightened our children and babies. While we did receive an apology from a staff member who recognized the owner's unacceptable behavior and offered us two bottles of wine, we still felt it was necessary to leave this review as a warning to others about Karen's conduct. It's disheartening to think about what we could have done with the nearly $1,000 we spent at a restaurant that clearly doesn't value its customers. I am a mother of one of the children who was treated poorly in the parking lot, and I feel compelled to speak out. Are customers expected to sit quietly while being mistreated? I'm confident that if there had been more patrons present, the owner’s behavior would have been different. I believe it's important to report such misconduct to prevent it from happening again.
I had the brisket, cajun prawns, buttermilk chicken, and some extra cornbread. It was a fantastic meal—not the cheapest option, but the service was excellent and the location is beautiful. The portions are generous!
My granddaughter and granddaughter had their high-time reception here on Friday 18th February. the place was perfect. the staff was very helpful, polite, and especially were professional at their jobs. eating, what can I say here? it was delicious, cooked for perfection. we have the chicken on, so tender and tasty, the Chicken shooters, I didn't try this before, they were lovely. on the BBQ spare ribs, now they were juicy, meat fell from the bone. we had slowly cooked beef brisket. oh young, no chewing here is simply melted in the mouth. the desert was just as good. chefs, you treated us well, you tipped off what was the perfect day and I thank you.
My family and I had Texas Tapas last night. Everything was fantastic! My daughter loved particularly the Mac and cheese, while I thought the wings and pulled pork bao buns were to die for. The whole family fully enjoyed our meal and, needless to say, there were no leftovers! The meal was safely delivered to our doorstep. I am looking forward to repeating this fabulous culinary experience soon.
