The Citadel Cafe - Wanganui

What an awesome relaxed cafe. Visited with 2 kids who have food allergies, and the staff were very helpful and able to work around this. Not relevant to us, but they have a separate kitchen for gluten free items. The staff were excellent, the food delish, and the location and outdoor seating was really nice. There's activities to keep the kids occupied and even some games to be played too. Got a takeaway coffee which was far too bitter for my liking but other than that a great experience all round.

Gorgoues wee eccentric vibe. Loved it. Went here again the other day and sat in their outdoor section and was very cute and had a great atmosphere. The fires were amazing. Cocktail range was limited but they were well priced and delicious. Great wee spot.

I had a great time here on Saturday! Took my wife and kids out for a morning breakfast run. The all round atmosphere is great and the food tasted divine! Kids play area was well maintained as well as the out door dinning. 10/10 would recommend Attached are some of our photos.

Still sitting here writing this.... As word has to go out... Busy very busy night , but made room for us with no hassle. On our roadtrip, the best burgent (and hard to top this ... Nice bun, supper nice chicken and great vegitarian options!. Delicious local drinks (Lads IPA is smooth! Very friendly staff, specialy knowing it's buzzing busy night. Out of curiosity looked at previous (low reviews... Nothing I read there came as the truth... Maybe a bad night of a kitchen slip-up, but this night was (is great. Full from the burger menu, but still looking at an desert too.... This place also does takeaways and looking at the glow of customers, all locals must think it's a great place. Well done Whanganui!

Love the atmosphere, amazing food and friendly staff! Most definitely one of the best places to enjoy the food in Whanganui. 5+
