Bidra med feedbackThe food was pretty good. I wouldn't say it was the best BBQ that I've had. I wasn't really a fan of their BBQ sauces, 2 of them were very liquidy, too much so for my personal taste. The menu also seemed a bit spendy to me. The restaurant is located inside a renovated house where the rooms were converted into dining rooms. Cool concept. Worth a visit. Service was great and food came out pretty quickly.
I wanted to like this place so bad. The venue is adorable but the food is just not good. Our cornbread was dry but a lot of places don't do cornbread exceptionally well so we looked past it and we're still really excited for our food. The brisket and chicken tasted like they boiled it, no smoke, mushy. The ribs were decent but they're not great cuts of meat and overall the only seasoning is the barbecue sauce, again, no real smokiness to them. My boyfriend ordered the sausages and could barely get through one because they were so dry. The staff is really sweet and the place is gorgeous but the food needs to be prepared better if you are charging 32 dollars for a platter. Maybe we went at a bad time. I do not understand the hype.
I don't know why all the bad reviews I just had dinner with 5 other people all new comers who have wanted to stop for a long time and finally we all got together and went. The service was great our waitress was Sam and she did a really great job, very pleasant. We had the pig and chips for appetizers as well as the pretzel and they were a big hit the chips were light and thin and made the pig and chips enjoyable. Everyone had a different entree and not a bad remark from anyone except for the fact someone mentioned the beans were to spicy. Between the food and drinks we spent well over $300, but it was worth it. Good food, drinks and company what more can you ask for!!
Pig Fire is located in a cute historic house and the grounds and environment are really nice. We had an overly friendly waitress, she kept telling us how good of a waitress she was. I ordered the brisket sandwich without a bun and a side of green beans. She tried to upsell me to a platter, and it's only a little more meat, and I said I didn't want to pay $7 more for a little more meat. I'm glad I didn't because the brisket was not what I was expecting. It was two 1/2 thick slices and dry as could be and just room temperature, almost like day old pot roast. The green beans were ok but weren't hot either. My dining mates also got the brisket and were medium-ish on it as well. Whiles some folks might love this type of brisket, it just wasn't my cut of beef. We got a drunken pretzel and that was tasty, as well as the pig and chips, which was really rich with the sauce.
Ate here tonight, I thought my order was very good, I had the half rack of baby back ribs that were cooked to the point where the meat fell off the bone literally, no fat what so ever (a trait of baby back ribs) and two sides, mashed potatoes and an interesting take on baked beans, very spicy but good, I liked them. Washed everything down with Weienstephaner bier. I'm the back of the restaurant they have a nice outdoor bar with many fine beers on tap including Southern Tier 2X Milk Stout, my favorite!
