Bidra med feedbackThis is actually a brewery with the taproom at Shaw. I got there right at 4:00pm, after opening. It was pretty quiet, great time to get a pint after a working day. They have a good selection of their own beer, as well as guest beer cans, cider, wine and spirit. $5 pint on happy hour during the weekdays 4-6pm. I liked this place overall, next time I'll get some food as well.
Early visit, right in time for the happy hour. Ready for a Raised by Wolves dry hopped Pale Ale. A well brewed Pale Ale as I like it. After this, I recoment the fruity Voyage to Nectaron IPA.Located close to the Shaw Howard University and Theater and the Duke Ellington Memorial.Metro Greenline, Buses 90 and 96 to bring You close to here.
Still one of the best breweries in DC. If there's a knock against them, it's that some of their beers across styles can be a bit thin or light. Other than that, their selection and style array is excellent and they are consistently very good. The food on the whole is great and the space itself is a win.The food shown is happy hour fare.
TLDR: Food is good Service slow. The restaurant is cute but there is a large grouping of unhoused people directly across the street and the road isn 't lit well, so it 's not easy to tell if they are open. We were sat immediately and all the servers were just chatting and laughing for quite a while. Then when the hostess told us she was going to remind our server that we were here the server proceeded to pull out her phone and start scrolling to show things to the hostess. They stood around laughing for a bit and eventually the hostess brought us water and apologized. When the server finally came over she seemed annoyed and was not friendly at all. The food came out fast and was delicious, but I do not recommend if you are trying to catch a show at the Howard or if you have somewhere to be later.
A hidden treasure. Fish tacos so good, well balanced. Chicken sandwich phenomenal. French fries, even the chips... Everything so good. Also great beers, great service. The security guy out front even moved his car so we could park.Food: 5/5
