Sweetgreen - Washington DC

I visited the restaurant during a quiet time around 4 PM, and the staff seemed irritated that anyone had come in while they weren’t busy. The atmosphere felt awkward with no music playing. Now, I’m hesitant to return if I’m the only customer. However, the food was delicious! I would recommend opting for takeout instead.

This is a fantastic place to enjoy a salad, even if you’re not usually a salad fan like I am. I typically order the guacamole green salad, which is a delicious and filling mix of avocado and grilled chicken, along with various other greens. The place is pretty busy, so on a nice day, you might wait up to 20 minutes for your food. It’s a good idea to call ahead if you can, especially during a weekday lunch!

As a beginner vegetarian, I hoped to find something appealing just by the restaurant's name. Even though the line stretched outside the door and onto the sidewalk, it moved quickly. The setup was similar to Chipotle, but with a wider variety of options, a more creative menu, and friendlier staff. I've never encountered such unique combinations before. Each bowl was bursting with color. To top it off, all the food was sourced locally, and some items seemed to be organic (if I remember correctly). I was having a rough day, but one of the guys behind the counter was really friendly. We had a pleasant interaction that lifted my spirits a bit. I'm definitely a fan!

I’m a big fan of Sweetgreen and often visit for a salad lunch. I've tasted several of their salads, and my favorites are the Spicy Sabzi and Pesto Portobello, though I've enjoyed other combinations as well. The service is fast, but be prepared for long lines during lunchtime. It’s definitely worthwhile to use their app and order in advance! They only accept credit cards or payments through their app.

Great salads a bit pricey for size seeing that Chopt salads are larger for around the same price. Sweetgreen's menu is less daunting, however. This location also has outdoor seating with umbrellas!
