Probably the best, most authentic Mexican food I've had in DC in the few years I've lived here. Not many other places come close.

Loved the chicken and chorizo tacos. The (warm) chips and salsa were also great. We tried the veggie enchiladas and they were yummy. They do add a 20% service fee on top of their prices, it is mentioned on the menu so they aren't sneaking it in or anything like that. Ended up costing a bit more than I'd like but it's 2023 and inflation is hard on small businesses. Anyway, just go if you wanna try Mexican food in this area.

Food, vibe, and service was all top tier. The salsa especially was better than any other restaurant I have been to.

Small restaurant, big flavors! Everything was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious! The best, most authentic Mexican food I’ve had in a very, very long time. The drinks were made perfectly too. You most definitely get what you pay for and you will not leave hungry. The staff are very friendly and attentive, even with a full house. The food/drink menu prices were reasonable, especially for the quality you receive. Parking was a pain, but that isn’t the establishments fault. This place left a great lasting impression both taste and experience wise. Out of all the selections in DC, I’m very happy we chose El Sol.

I’ve ordered here before and it’s good. Today I opened my burrito and found a large hair coiled. It is a different color than my hair so I know it’s not mine, and it only appeared after opening the burrito.
