The restaurant may not be much to look at, but they offer good food at reasonable prices. I ordered a breakfast with a slice of ham and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the portion and the delicious flavor. Most places serve thin slices of ham, but this restaurant serves a nice thick piece.
The food was delicious, but the décor of the restaurant is in desperate need of a renovation. It is extremely outdated.
Absolutely revolting, both in terms of appearance and taste. I made the mistake of coming here when we were a bit hungry, and it was a decision I deeply regret. The building is in terrible shape and the interior is just as bad, raising concerns about their health standards. There was a strong, unpleasant odor that I couldn't quite place. The food was no better - my dining companion found their roast beef to be passable, but the chicken I ordered was abysmal. Upon complaining, it was revealed that the chicken was prepackaged and frozen, a cheap choice for both the price and the establishment. The mashed potatoes were inedible, made from instant flakes that were worse than anything you could make at home. We accepted our defeat and learned our lesson - never eat here. If you're looking for dining options, nearby Danville offers a variety of choices including McDonald's, Wendy's, and Perkins Restaurant and Bakery. I highly recommend R R's Tin Cup in Turbotville for delicious burgers, chicken, and ice cream. Steer clear of this restaurant at all costs, no matter how hungry you may be.
Looks can certainly be deceiving! The Village Inn isn't as pretty as some of the larger restaurants in this area, but the food is as good or better than any of them. I ordered the Grilled Ham Cheese sandwich expecting to be served a couple of pieces of ham lunch meat and a slice of cheese on toasted bread. Was I ever pleasantly surprised when I got actual sliced ham and plenty of cheese! I also had the corn nuggets and cole slaw, which were both excellent. The Village Inn is truly a hidden treasure, and we can't wait to go back to try some of their other menu items.
