I've been wanting to go to Michael's for a while now, so on my way to CT, I decided to make a pit stop and ask for a few plates in take-out. First and foremost, the order was ready on time, which was awesome! However, there was no cutlery included, even though I had specified that we were not locals. Too bad. We ended up using the chopsticks my mum kept in the glove compartment. Fun! Second, the price. Ouch, especially for my Canadian wallet. For some reason, I misunderstood that there was a 15% fee because it was take-out. I saw it on their website but I thought it was a 15% discount instead. lol. My brain! I do get that it's fine dining though. I just think $90 for three appetizers and two beers is a bit steep. Then again, maybe that's just me! However, if money isn't a problem for you, go ahead and order away! The calamari was beautifully cooked but came with only a few pieces. The panzanella salad was good, but the burrata was disappointing—the stracciatella was quite firm. I prefer it soft and creamy like a runny egg. Maybe it's just me! The vegetable frites were the best part, though they weren’t piping hot, which I expected since it was take-out so no problem there! Overall, it was a very good meal. The staff was nice and helpful. I’m still curious to try dining in, as I believe the experience would likely be better on-site.
Exceptional food, however experience diminished by the dead atmosphere. Dated decor, no mountain view, no music... we expected more considering the price and the photos. Reserve in the glass roof.
First meal out in a long time that did not disappoint. From cocktails to dessert everything was on point. Our server Stephanie was the perfect mix of knowledgeable and down to earth. Highly recommend.
The food was extremely disappointing. Bland lobster, soggy risotto, the world's most pathetic panzanella salad, average lamb, and overcooked gnocchi. They were however nice enough to substitute the inedible lobster with risotto for the gnocchi, but the food simply isn't good. The staff was very nice overall however.
