Bidra med feedbackHave visited many times -- excellent food. Love the green curry, but especially the Pad Thai. Service has always been very good, friendly, never pushy. They also do take-away service which I've used and have been very happy with. Atmosphere isn't anything particularly amazing, but location is great (uptown Waterloo).Highly recommend.
I've been to Thailand, so perhaps I have high standards. But that lady on the corner of the night bazaar in Chiang Mai makes better basil fry rice than the 'award winning' my thai.Food was tasteless and not spicy at all but somehow very sweet. Too sweet. We ordered Basil fry shrimp and massaman curry (but they brought us panang curry in error).Server also didn't know anything about the food or how stuff is made, and "i don't know" was all she said.We also ordered a lunch portion of our meal (at dinner) time, and were denied our request, after the server asked at the kitchen. Also, $15 for curry + $2 for steam rice seemed like too much for this quality food. Imagine the food stalls at the mall - you get the idea of the quality.
My husband and I were visiting friends in Waterloo a couple weeks ago and they suggested this place for dinner. They said it was the best in the area, and they did not steer us wrong! We love Thai food and wanted an authentic experience and this good was amazing! You walk in and the restaurant just keeps going and going....we sat in the back and it was nice and quiet. The 4 of us each tried something different and we split appetizers. What flavor and spice .....we couldn't remember the last time we tried something so flavorful. Our waiter was fantastic and kept refilling our water as well as our hot sauce too. We needed a couple refills on the hot sauce! Everyone left stuffed and satisfied, and with leftovers for the next day. If we are back in the area again we will definitely return. Everything on their menu looked so good, you really can't go wrong. What a great experience!
This place is rather average. We have been there for dinner with a group of about 10 people. The restaurant is rather quiet, which was great for conversations. The food however was rather average, nothing special at all and something you would get at any Asian restaurant in Europe. The staff was also so and so, forgetting things but nothing drastic. One thing that deserves positive mentioning, is the fact that they had a whole page menu on gluten free food, which is great for people that need that diet.
It's nothing fancy, but the food is always delicious and the service friendly. Perfect location in the heart of Uptown. Great place for a casual dinner, or do take-out.
