South Street Ice Cream Cafe - Waymart

Very nice place IF you happen to be lucky enough to find the store open. Closed 90% of the times I have stopped by. Staff friendly, service fast and everything is delicious.

The keep irrational hours. Always friendly but far from consistent

Close whenever they feel like it with no warning. 2/3 times we went this week they were closed when it said they were open. Went on Sunday while they were open and they ignored us in the window while counting their money even though they were supposed to be open another half hour until they finally realized we weren’t going anywhere and served us. Went at 8:20pm on Monday (hours say they close at 9) and it was pitch black. Went again at 9:10pm on Friday (hours say they close at 10) and it was pitch black again. Either change your hours or be open when you say you’re going to be open.

Tried this ice cream place because we were recommended by the Waymart Hotel, btw, the food there was delicious. They had a lot of different flavors of soft ice cream, but not a lot in hard ice cream. I got the Pina colada soft, the ice cream was very creamy, but just had a hint of pina colada flavor, tasted more like plain vanilla. They had these huge 20 oz. sundaes that looked amazing, full of ice cream and toppings for $4.50. I think next time I'm going for that. Service was fast and friendly and prices were fair.

They are always out of toppings, they cannot dip the ice cream, over priced and today after I pulled the napkin off my ice cream (chocolate there was something red on my STALE cone. (I took a picture. We will be driving to Honesdale to the Gravity where the quality, options, prices and service are much better.
