Bidra med feedbackI visited this restaurant with a friend for a catch up. NEVER again. The food was truly awful. I started off with gammon and egg with so called gourmet fries and a side salad. The gammon was tough as old boots and more fat than gammon actually truly inedible. Alongside were 2 fried eggs were they left over from breakfast because they certainly looked it? The gourmet chips were clearly just frozen thick cut chips also I think you need to change your cooking oil chef too! Disappointing side salad consisting of a bowl of mixed leaves with 2 slivers of pepper that 's it. As it was inedible, I sent this meal back and requested a burger instead. That took 25 minutes to arrive by which time my friend had finished eating so that wasn 't great. Well, what can I say about the burger? That was also inedible, it was dense as a brick with a weird taste and definitely not what you 'd expect for what they 're charging, so I gave up on dinner. Desserts were fine thank goodness as I was starving! The only redeeming factor of this place were the young ladies that served us who couldn 't have been lovelier. It was quite clear by the end of this meal that in fact the chef needs better quality ingredients to start with in order to produce a meal worthy of the outrageous sums being charged here for simply dreadful food.
Lovely place, we only stopped in for a drink after doing the driving next door, and it was our first visit to The Aviator, even though lived nearby all our lives, friendly staff, and a real 1930s ambience, will be visiting again to try their afternoon tea or a meal.
We were disappointed at our visit for Sunday lunch. The roast options were not available, but they did advise in advance. The member of staff looked disinterested and told us she was leaving anyway. The atmosphere was not good, few tables were booked and the food very average. It was the first time i have visited in a few years and it seems to have lost its sparkle, which is a real shame given the location and furnishings.
Hi, I don't know whether this post really relates to the restaurant but I had ordered 20 lunches for a special occasion during the AeroExpo event. First of all I never had any communication back from the caterers, secondly the food was overpriced and thirdly nobody ever showed up checking on my group whether everything was ok or if we needed something or to help set the lunch up. All they did was to put sandwiches and samosas into plastic boxes. I felt food was totally overpriced for what it was (could have bought the stuff myself in a supermarket for a quarter of the price! and I was very disappointed. this might not relate to the service in the actual restaurant but the company was hired to provide catering for the Airshow and that was definitely ****!
The art deco hotel is stunning, with original features and furniture. It is a beautiful place to visit and fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere.
