Bidra med feedbackThis pub just keeps on giving, the food was delicious, the staff excellent, the village setting delightful and spotlessly clean throughout. A truly relaxing lunch with friends, thank you.
So I booked this place for 19 people to celebrate my 30th birthday. We had 5 different families with their children and had the worst experience I have ever had!! We booked here specifically as I personally do not like a carvery however I think a carvery would be better than the roast dinner I received here. 3 of us had a lamb roast to which it was fatty and acquired a weird bitter taste. The carrots were hard and far too big and to top it off the roast potatoes were soft. The stuffing was horrible and looked more like an onion bargee and there was just a silly lump of shredded cabbage. The selection of vegetables was a joke. The whole dinner was tasteless however the 2 people with beef said the beef was cooked nice. 2 people had burgers, 1 being a child and the other an adult and both couldn’t eat the burgers as they were far too over cooked. 1 small child had fish fingers but these were rockhard and far too overcooked. The service was from the waitresses were very poor. They never came to ask us if we needed anything and how the food was. They staff were not friendly and welcoming atall and the whole experience was a disaster. I was told that a manager would be out to speak to me but this did not happen. It was my 30th birthday and I was so disappointed by the whole day. It completely ruined it, I did not have a nice day atall and I certainly will not visit for food again!!! After spending over £200 and leaving hungry, no I certainly would not recommend!!
We only dropped in for a lunchtime snack but we had such a good time I felt I had to write a review. Our sandwiches were delicious. Mine was crammed with very tasty cheese, my companion’s full of delicious prawns. We sat outside in the beautifully kept garden. The staff were so friendly and helpful. At one stage it started to rain slightly so one of them found us an umbrella and put it up for us. I just wanted to say ‘thank you’ and how much we appreciated being properly looked after by caring and efficient staff in a lovely, well cared for setting. Will certainly be returning!
Visited last weekend as a family of 10 to celebrate parents birthdays. As we came on the Sunday, there was a Sunday menu so a little bit different to the menu online. No complaints for the food, everyone was pleased. Was impressed that all came out at the same time which is a big plus with such a large order. Service from the girls who served us were lovely. We all ordered a dessert too and all eaten up quickly Drink choices at the bar were good too, lovely non alcoholic cider available too which is great. Outdoor area is a big bonus, nice well kept lawn area for the children to have some fun also has an outdoor climbing frame but perfect for size of garden. Ample outdoor seating. Car park was good with many spaces! Added bonus was a super car show was happening down the road, we also got to see and hear lots of them. Overall great experience.
Sunday lunch used to be a great meal at the Horseshoe, a side dish of seasonal veg, home made roast potatoes and yourkshire pudding, selection of Roasts that actually were from joints of meat, well £15 for pre-sliced beef, carrots and frozen pea, (not seasonal veg) roast potatoes and yorkshires that were also frozen, not appetizing and not value for money , nobody asked if we would like dessert, staff young and very inexperienced, its no wonder it was empty on a Bank Holiday weekend
