I like this place. Don’t know about the hotel side of the business. The bar operation seems to be separate from the food, and you pay at different tills. You can’t ask the waitress for drinks, you have to get them yourself from the bar. As such the barman wasn’t that interested in the diners which is understandable. The food was nice and better value for money than lots of similar places in Wells. The whole place could do with a refurb but I was happy with the 1980s style Service: 4 Location: 4

The best sausage and mash I've ever had! They use sausages from a local butcher and make fresh potato mash. It’s served steaming hot in a generous Yorkshire pudding, topped with homemade gravy. Service: 5 stars. Location: 5 stars. Hotel Highlights: Excellent value for money!
