Del Mar - West Chester

Bad night. This is a tough one because I hate giving bad reviews based on a single visit. Unfortunately, the service was so bad that I don't know I will visit again. However, if I do, I would love to give a better review. We walked in and we were able to seat ourselves right away in the bar area. Literally, right next to the bar. Important to note as I continue. The food options for Bar Del Mar are limited however you can also order off of the Brio menu. Our server was extremely friendly and seemed to be a great guy. Unfortunately, the service itself was awful. It took forever to get drinks and it took quite a long time to get the food. Without every little detail being outlined I'll just mention the general things that seemed to go wrong. Drinks were forgotten about and didn't come to us and had to be asked for multiple times. Salad was run out with the main entrees so we wound up sending those back and didn't even eat them. The soup came out without utensils and when we asked for a spoon we literally had to have one of us go back in the kitchen and get one ourselves as they didn't have any at the bar. And the bread that we specifically asked for, twice, to go with the lobster bisque never showed up at all. At our table we ordered a flatbread and a pizza. We received two flatbreads so one had to get remade and brought to us later. As it took too long, we just took that one home with us. The food itself was good. That's the best thing that I can say about it. I wouldn't say great but it was good. The appetizers of the calamari and the cheese curds were good. The flatbread and the pizza wand up being good. I personally had the stuffed chicken parmigiana which I thought was very good. With all that went wrong, the server did take items off the menu and gave one of the drinks at no charge. I have to give it to him for that. But the fumbles along the way really overshadowed the bad things that went wrong. I'm not looking to get things for free. I just like to get the things we actually order in a reasonable amount of time. The basics. Would I go back? There were four of us in the general consensus was probably not. But like I said in the beginning, if I do, I would definitely hope to write a better review and chalk this up to being an off night.

We visited brios in the same location as Bar Del Mar for a birthday party. We went to the bar to get a drink because the service at Brios was way too slow. The bartender was pleasant in the drinks were fun. Nice décor And cozy fun place.

Not what it used to be. No energy at the place and the jalapeño margarita is now only tequila and ABI. Super disappointed. Bartender was polite.

Asia Y. at the bar was amazing! Attentive but not pushy and a great personality! Food was prepared to order and I can't wait to come back! Great atmosphere!
