Bidra med feedbackFound this restaurant on yelp and decided to stop in on our why down to Long Island for Thanksgiving. They are close to the Thruway exit 21B. 3.5 to 4 stars The place is quite large with lots of seating area and off shoot areas for small groups. The service was very good. The food was good Soup special Turkey asparagus was good but was a bit salty for my taste. Spouse had their MAINE LOBSTER ROLL Their most popular sandwich! Chilled Maine lobster meat tossed with diced fresh cucumber, chopped scallion, and tarragon mayonnaise. Served on a brioche roll. 26.99. It was good but would get something else. For me NASHVILLE HOT FISH SANDWICH Florida grouper double dredged in old bay seasoned flour then deep fried and dipped in our secret hot sauce. Served on a brioche bun with sliced avocado, sweet pickles and parmesan peppercorn dressing. 14.99. This was a good meal. Onion Rings were excellent. but cost extra $1.99. Mushroom Fritters were salty but OK. Also extra $1.99. Sandwiches DO NOT come with anything. They don't tell you this. I would return in the area but order something different.
Only 5 of us for our last night in Coxsackie. The waitress took our drink orders as soon as she finished filling our water glasses. Started out with New England Clam Chowder that was loaded with clams and was very creamy. Then had the short ribs in a delicious sauce with mashed potatoes that hit the spot. Prime rib and lobster tails were among the other entrees. We were too filled to order desert. Finished off with Cappuccino. The place was decorated for Christmas. The food was good. The service was great. Good bye Red 's we 'll be back next year. Sal E New Rochelle.
Must've had bad timing today. Because the waitress was way off her game and constantly messed things up. as the customer at the table next to ours had said. It's just not your day to her. Slow and confused. We've eaten here before and had a wonderful meal as well as service I'm guessing it Might have been her first day. It took a little time to get soda lemonades. But over 30 minutes for a black coffee that's ridiculous but it took well over an hour to get our simple lunch of burgers and soft shell crab. Crab was a quite salty. Dutchess potatoes were very cold and definitely not Dutchess more like loose mashed my brother in law was charged for each refill of coke !! good lord. Onion rings hard as a rock. God forbid if we ordered dessert we'd still be there. It's just her timing was all wrong. Then the checks came. An absolute disaster. Thank god she fixed it fast enough for us to get out of there. I have been praising Reds Restaurant to my sister and brother in law for quite some time. Unfortunately I had to apologize once we were out of there on our way back home. Not sure how things could have went this bad. It'll be awhile before we go back. Bummer
We arrived at 8:10 and despite the 9:00 pm closing time were immediately made to feel welcome. My sister had the baked haddock and I had the fish sandwich (broiled). Both were delicious. The fish was perfectly done. My french fries had the right amount of seasoning and crispness. We ordered the lavender lemon drop martinis and they were amazing. The service was wonderful and the staff went the extra mile. I would totally recommend this spot.
Ate at Red's for the Thanksgiving buffet. The place was quite large and we were seated at a room that was quite spacious with diners not seated too close to each other. They also have Sunday Brunch and I intend to try that. I started with a Blood Orange mule cocktail. It was a beautiful presentation and actually quite delicious. The buffet line was quite extensive with protein of Turkey dark and breast) as well as ham. The turkey breast was actually quite moist and delicious- especially with gravy and cranberry sauce. The ham was very good too and I tried it with mustard in one round and with the next time with dark gravy. Both really hit the spot. The sides of brussel sprouts, squash, sweet potatoes and mashed potato. The dessert table was too tempting so we nibbled on the cannoli. Very crisp pastry and yummy fillings. The waiter was attentive and came by regularly to check on progress to take away plates and serve coffee. This is my first time here but really needs to come back again.
