Daiko Japanese - West Haven

Hands down.....the best sushi you will ever have. Period. You will go other places and they will never live up to Jerry's. You will keep coming back and appreciate Daiko even more. Also, Jerry San is one of the nicest persons you will ever meet. A genuine sushi master. A down to earth joyful person. Try the crunchy spice tuna roll. Try the Jimmy roll. Keep trying and trying....you will not be disappointed. Have a hand roll with Jerry at the bar. Enjoy!

What I love most about this restaurant is its decor and atmosphere. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by beautiful hanging origami, creating a cozy and inviting vibe. On top of that, the sushi and service are outstanding. Every dish we ordered was fresh and exquisitely prepared. Even when we encountered a minor issue with one of our rolls, the waitress and kitchen staff promptly addressed it and remade the roll without any hassle. I highly recommend it as one of the best sushi spots in town!

If there were more stars to give, I'd happily award them all. I've been a patron of Jerry's for over 20 years, and since then, I've held every sushi restaurant I've tried to that incredibly high standard. No one has ever come close. It's never been a consideration; if sushi was on the menu, it was always from Route 34 in West Haven—no other name even came up. I had the privilege of enjoying the absolute best. It's like having lived during the dawn of electricity; yes, it feels that significant! Now, I face the bittersweet end of an era, and it brings a tear to my eye. I've been sober for 30 years, and I realize that I've never had a sake bomb with Jerry... and now I never will, as I choose to remain sober and Jerry is retiring.
