La Bottega Original - West Hempstead

We had a wonderful dining experience at this charming spot in Garden City South! We started with the Il Giardino panini as an appetizer for the table, and my husband really enjoyed his perfectly fried calamari dish. The gnocchi was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the salads and other dishes were equally memorable. I personally loved the bruschetta with goat cheese, walnuts, honey, and mushrooms - it was amazing! We ended our meal with cannolis and tiramisu, both of which were delicious. Our waitress, Elsy, was attentive, friendly, and fantastic. We will definitely be returning!

I have ordered takeout from this restaurant before, so I was curious to dine in. The staff at the restaurant is diligent and pays close attention to detail. I tried two delicious paninis and a side of cauliflower, everything was exceptional. The IL Pastrami panini I ordered was quite possibly the best sandwich I have ever tasted.

I rated the food at this restaurant 5 stars because it was excellent. However, yesterday we had to wait a long time to pick up our order. There was a line of people waiting and the person taking phone orders was trying their best to handle the calls and bag the food. We wished she had some help, and finally she did when another person stepped in to assist. It's understandable that things may take longer, but when you're told it will only be a 15-minute wait and people are waiting in their cars, it can be frustrating. Again, the food was excellent and I would be happy to change my rating.

Love this place, they have an extensive Panini selection and will create ones just the way you want. Salads Soups are super delicious too. Great for a ladies lunch or family dinner. They offer catering too. A real gem and consistently great food. I have been going for years!!!
