I recently tried Frank's Brick Oven for take out pizza and found it excellent. Do yourself a favor and order the Fenway pizza. In fact, order two. It's the bomb! This one has ground sausage and red peppers and is very tasty. The service was very fast and courteous, which I appreciated as well. There is a lot of competition and choices for pizza in Newton. I have to say I find Frank's Brick Oven one of the best, with great tasting pizza and with reasonable prices.
I don't know Frank, as I’m new to the area and haven't experienced the local dining scene before the pandemic. However, there are two things I can confidently say: 1) Starting a food service business during COVID must be incredibly challenging, and 2) This pizza is absolutely delicious. The Greek salad was also excellent; you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. The brick oven crust was fantastic, and the pepperoni was well-curled, a sign of top-notch quality. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. This operation is set up in the back of the local establishment, using an old brick oven that was previously unused. The person behind this venture—creating high-quality brick oven pizzas with great ingredients from a neglected oven—clearly has ambition, and I love that spirit! I'll definitely be back for more, Frank!
I just ordered through Grubhub and noticed that this place has surprisingly low ratings. The prices are great, and the delivery was almost instant (I live just half a mile away, and it was Saturday early evening). The burger was fantastic—it was cooked to medium-rare without any special request, which is how I believe it’s meant to be enjoyed. For those who prefer it cooked more, make sure to specify your desired doneness in the comments. The toppings were generous. The pizza was decent—nothing exceptional, but I’d definitely order it again. I was hoping for a bit more smoky flavor in the crust, as I assumed "brick oven" meant it was wood-fired. The wings were excellent, and I think they use a higher quality base for their wings. However, the “sauce on the side” request was overlooked, but it’s not a huge deal. The honey mustard sauce was very mild and quite enjoyable.
To the manager: We called during our first visit and spoke with you about the situation. You mentioned that we would be refunded, but we never received the refund. Despite this, we still wanted to give the restaurant another chance. I also have records of our call with the manager. We genuinely tried twice, but both times we experienced poor food quality and incorrect orders. I believe it's entirely reasonable to leave a review after such experiences. This isn't meant to damage the restaurant's reputation, but rather to share our honest feedback. Would you prefer we didn't express our concerns?
