The Essex House - West Orange

My wife and I visited for Christmas Eve dinner last night. The Essex House was incredibly charming, the service was warm, efficient and thoughtful. I had a ribeye steak which was cooked to perfection (trust me, I’m a tough critic on steaks). Mywife had the stuffed chicken. We both left incredibly satisfied and happy. Absolutely recommend!

I was blessed to have my bridal shower here. It was wonderful! Had it on a Sunday during the Sunday brunch. We were in a private room set up beautifully. We got food as we pleased. Staff was super nice and did a wonderful job. Perfect place to have parties!

Great time! great cocktails and great food! parking was easy and the service was 5 stars! love sitting at the bar with a fire after a snowstorm, perfect place!

There was a large selection of foods that was constantly replenished. The food was set up in an efficient manner. All the selections we had were very tasteful. The staff was very professional and friendly.

We went here on New Years eve as a contigicancy plan. It's an older place with an older crowd. The food was good, but entirely to expensive for what was served. The wine list was limited and they didn't have the bottle we asked for, however the manager/ owner gave us a better bottle for the price of the one we wanted, but then they ran out of that wine. It was okay, but i don't think I'll be going back.
