Bidra med feedbackMy wife and I visited this restaurant on Saturday, September 16th in the hopes of grabbing a bite to eat and a drink. Unfortunately, they were not serving food at lunchtime, but they kindly recommended another local place for us to dine at. After about an hour, we returned to enjoy a drink in the bar area and relax in this charming traditional local pub with a lot of character. One of the regulars welcomed us warmly and engaged in a pleasant conversation with us for about 10 minutes. He shared some interesting local history and mentioned the village's connection to the TV show Downton Abbey. Overall, it was a lovely experience and we would not hesitate to visit again if we are in the area. Thank you.
This pub is struggling and in danger of failing unless they improve. They need to focus on serving good food and selling drinks to make a profit and keep customers coming back. There's no secret to success, just follow this formula and stay in business because we need you.
Excellent Sunday Roast, home made with 4 veg for £10 or with homemade desert £12.50, been back 4 times this year. Nice hospitality and lovely waitresses
I used to enjoy having a drink at the Horseshoe from time to time, but on my second visit to watch cricket, the manager changed the channel without any apology or explanation. It was very rude, especially since there was no one else there watching the TV. This lack of courtesy towards customers is unacceptable. I definitely will not be returning, and I'm sure I will not be welcomed back. It was a very unprofessional experience.
I've been in a few times since the new owners took it on. It keeps improving at a steady pace. Not had a chance to try the Sunday roast yet, but looking forward to having Sunday free to try. Good pint, decent selection of wines and spirits. Friendly staff and locals. Clean loos! Football season was fun (even though I'm not a fan it was easy to get caught up in it all! Have also enjoyed a few quiet evenings just relaxing with a drink.
