Sugar Shack Vinewood Acre - Westfield

We have been visiting the Sugar Shack over the last five years while camping nearby. Gail is a delight to talk to and always entertaining. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end, and she has closed the restaurant for good. We stopped by yesterday to pick up her new book and another one she had written. When I left, she shared that she had to shut down due to some unreasonable rules and regulations. She wanted everyone to know that she still hopes her family and customers will come by to visit her. It's a sad day to hear that the Sugar Shack has closed, and it seems there may have been other reasons for the closure, possibly stemming from differing views than those of the state majority.

We have the last two weeks on the sugar shack two times on the road. gail was kind. love her swellness! would highly recommend stop. all homemade syrups are excellent.

Went to the Sugar Shack yesterday for our yearly visit to stock up on Gail's fabulous fruit syrups. Was able to spend some quality time with her and left in awe of her history and continued passion for her farm and the surrounding environment. Alas though, the great state of New York has decided that she must give them her recipes or stop selling the syrups. Of course if she gives up her recipes, there will be syrup vendors on every corner selling her beloved product. This is where New York taxpayers money is going. Guess Covid, homelessness and global warming do not deserve as much attention as an 83 year old's business of selling a healthy, fresh, natural homegrown product. So please stop by and support Gail. I promise you will love her and her products.

Amazing. Gail is great, her syrup is incredible. If you have the chance I would recommend supporting her business and learning her story.

Excellent pick your own Concord grape vineyard. Right on lake Erie, vineyard was planted in 1960 and produce picture perfect fruit. Filled my bag in about 15 minutes. Price this year was at (approximately) 1.00 per pound. Gail (the owner) was very pleasant to talk to. Excellent syrups from her grandmother's recipes.
