Bidra med feedbackSo good!!! Food was so fresh I almost ate me freakin' plate!! Tara was a sweetheart and very welcoming. I really want to visit again. That cheese omelet was EVERYTHING I NEEDED IN MY LIFE!! Lolz...
My husband wasn’t enthusiastic about the local bar I found on Yelp for lunch, so he suggested we try Tara's Diner instead. The surrounding area felt quite sleepy, with not many other businesses nearby. The diner was tidy and had a simple decor. We chose to sit at the counter, where my husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger while I opted for a hot ham and cheese sandwich. The sandwiches didn’t come with any sides, so we decided to share an order of waffle fries for $3.65. The price seemed slightly steep at first, but when I saw the generous portion and the size of the fries, I felt it was worth it. My sandwich featured a hearty slab of ham with a generous amount of melted cheese on toasted white bread. They had bottled iced tea and soft drinks available, along with a daily special of a sloppy joe with tater tots. There were a few people, likely family members, going in and out of the kitchen, and we chatted with some of them who were very friendly. I didn’t expect a place like Tara's to accept credit cards, so discovering that they did was a pleasant surprise.
The meatloaf special, served with fresh mashed potatoes, was outstanding. There were plenty of locals dining for lunch when we arrived, which is always a great indication!
First of all, the restaurant has been renamed White Lake Diner under new ownership. The staff was really friendly and accommodating. We had dinner there and left feeling completely satisfied—definitely go there on an empty stomach! My friend ordered the four-piece fried chicken, which was both fresh and delicious. I opted for the chicken tenders platter, and it was great as well. The decor is a bit worn but well-maintained and clean. The prices are reasonable too. It felt like they stayed open just for us since we were the only ones left after another family departed, and we really appreciated not being rushed.
