Walter's Futterkrippe - Wiesbaden

I love Walter's! Walter's was my family's first taste of Germany when we moved to Wiesbaden in 1989. We stayed at the Amelia Earhart Hotel over the summer waiting on military housing to open up for our family of 7 and we ate at Walter's specifically more often than nought. It's where I learned the difference between the numerous types of bratwurst. And the bliss of mayonnaise on pomme frites. If I ever make my way back to Germany this little establishment will be a major priority for my trip. And if you are in the area, you should visit.

I haven't been there since the 1996 but I miss it terribly. I wish I could buy the curry sauce. I have my found one like it since I moved back home.

Walters was our go to place for my three years. Late evening dining at its best. Currywurst mit pommes frites mit mayo ! Getting used to mayo on fries was easy, just think of potato salad. The little brochen made the difference ! Best roll ever. My standard order, 2 currywurst, one pommes frites ! At the time, it was very price friendly too.

My partner took me there for dinner. Even though it is not in the city center, but it was worth walking there for 20 minutes! It looks like a normal food stand in a regular neighbourhood, yet they serve the best Currywurst I have ever had. We also ordered Frikadelle Burger. Good quality patty with reasonable price! Absolutely recommended!
