Bidra med feedbackSo on a recent business trip out to Windsor, I was looking for some lunch. Unable to find the HK Diner type place I visited the last time I was in town, I literally pulled over to the next closest thing I saw - some random place called "Spoon".Eh, I'm on business... why not, right? My meal was a Black Sesame Tonkotsu Ramen with extra noodle and a Ramen Egg.To be honest, I was somewhat skeptical of what I would receive - I've tried Ramen in Toronto, let alone outside the GTA, where the "Ramen" was basically overcooked noodles served in slightly seasoned hot water. This wasn't bad at all.The broth itself was rich and flavourful. It didn't quite taste like some of the more authentic stuff I've had on the West coast where you can taste the soft cartilage in the soup, but I'd say it stacks up to the more typical places pretty good. The noodles were well prepared (i.e. not cooked to death) but they were, understandably, the prepackaged kind.Ramen Egg was well prepared, and not $2... probably a first for the Eastern seaboard.. at least for me, anyway. My only real "complaint" is that the pork belly slices were a bit small, and I think were overcooked slightly.I don't normally comment much on service, but I have to say.. maybe it's because I was the only person in there, but the service was very good. There was no rush to get my order. The waiter made sure I was comfortably seated before asking what I wanted to eat.Now that I think about it... maybe I'm just used to the below average service of Chinese places.. :PSo, in conclusion, a random place tried, where the result was successful.Looks like I found a new place to visit regularly in Windsor.
This place is goodProviding good service and taste of home made soupIt is real broth I tasted in Japan.
My best friend and I were ecstatic a ramen place opened in Windsor! (IP Ramen closed, Kagerou is during a limited time, and we can only take so many Toronto
Ramen here is good, I got the black garlic oil tonkotsu ramen - full of great umami tastes! Broth was in medium richness so it's not overly aggressive.
Sooooooo gooooood. It was a cold blustery day and I had heaven in a bowl of ramen for a while. It's like eating an entire meal. I just wish it wasn't so expensive, but on the other hand it was soooooo good it didn't hurt so much to fork over the cash.
