Eddy's Place - Winnipeg

I love Eddy's Place for its good food and friendly atmosphere. The retro 1960's vibe and vibrant orange tables bring back great memories. Their coffee is fantastic and the burgers are delicious.

I really enjoyed this restaurant! After reading Marion Warhaft's review, I decided to meet a friend here for lunch. I was warmly greeted and offered a cup of hot coffee while I waited for my friend. The atmosphere was very welcoming, with many regular customers making it feel cozy and friendly. The food was fantastic - I ordered the reuben with fries, which had loads of meat and sauerkraut and was served piping hot. The fries were also very tasty. My friend ordered the BLT, which she always uses as a benchmark when trying a new restaurant, and she was very satisfied with it. The endless coffee for $1.70 was a great deal, and the service was top-notch. We definitely plan on returning in the future.

Eating at this restaurant feels just like being at home with Mom. The omelets are amazing - they customize them to your taste, throwing in all sorts of delicious ingredients from their kitchen. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. I highly recommend this spot.

My husband and I make a point to stop at Eddy a few times a year for a beef on rye to share with half pommes and a diet soda. The amount of beef could feed two people, but I kind of...manage to always end mine. We order the frits with gravity on the side. The rye bread is beautifully soft and fresh. I had the reubs back a few visits and it was also delicious. You're not hungry. This place is visited by a number of regular customers for many years. The pool hall is still very much in use and the guys who play are not amateurs. The restaurant is clean and the kitchen staff cook and wait tables and the fare is empty and fresh. Go early at 3:30. Parking on the street is free. The staff is friendly and the banter is always interesting.

Lunch and Rueben Sandwich. The food was good, not fancy, but good. Service was also good. However, it felt overpriced for what we have. Didn't hit the hype for us.
