Bidra med feedbackThis was my first visit to the Red Eye and I was impressed. The service was second to none and the food was very good.
Our cousin was in town so my bro & I took him to the Red Eye Diner, from a recommendation. We were impressed to say the least, the service was great and the food was very good. I would love to take rookie wait staff and have them just shadow the girls that work there.
We visited for breakfast after a hard run of 10k. Generally our friends rate the Eye Opener as a really good place for breakfast, but I was not so impressed. The decor is 50's - 60's diner with lovely red seats and a checkerboard floor. We had the two eggs plus kobasa and the two eggs with ham. Skip the ham. Shoe leather would have been more palatable! The kobasa was good enough, but the ham was so tough you could barely cut it with a knife. A fork would not go into it. Dry and structurally sound would be my description of the ham. The eggs were really good, but skip the ham!
Now called the Red Eye Diner. Small restaurant near the north edge of the city by the perimeter. Friendly service, easy parking and delicious food. Yummy varieties of homemade jams. Daily specials.
Nice atmosphere, great look inside, service was fantastic and reasonable prices. Food we had was pretty average fare; all dishes underseasoned and fairly bland. Not sure I've ever had deep fried potato pancakes before. A nice visit but no need to rush back.
