Restaurant was clean, staff was courteous and food was prepared quickly. My only issue is that the scallops are imitation. If you say scallops and they are imitation then they are not scallops. Scallops are NOT perfectly round and all the same size. They are also not super fishy tasting and tough. I asked the cook if they were real and he said yes and I said well they don?t look or taste like it. He said this company we get scallops from sends the whole big scallop and made
Insanely slow. Dine in is served/cooked last. Or maybe just forgotten. Small portions. Over salted. Over priced for the 20 minute wait. The homeless hanging out on the outside tables doesn’t help.
They never give enough meat at all but fill the plate with vegetables
Kotta is pinned at the end of a strip mall, just down the way from retailers like Five Below and Target. Sometimes these out of the way spots are hidden gems, but Kotta just doesn't feel that way for me. The lunch special I ordered consisted of hibachi steak, mixed veg, fried rice, sweet carrots, and a fountain drink. At $13 plus tax, it doesn't feel like much of a special in terms of cost.Prep time didn't take long, and the food arrived warm, but the size of the servings wasn't very substantial in comparison to the price. The food wasn't bad, but wasn't especially remarkable either. The mixed vegetables were limited to zucchini, onions, and maybe three small flowers of broccoli. No mushrooms? :(There are several Asian restaurants in town, including more than a few that offer good food as well as solid value. Kotta just doesn't compete with them. [In other words, go to Kimono instead.
