The Sweet Stop - Winthrop Harbor

What a charming little bakery! It offers both indoor and outdoor seating, adorned with lovely seasonal decorations. The selection is what you would typically expect from a bakery. During our visit, we noticed several senior patrons stopping by to pick up freshly made heat-and-eat meals. The interactions between the customers and the employee at the counter were very friendly and pleasant. I definitely plan to return for their gorgeous hot cocoa bombs! The only suggestion I have for improvement would be to add lattes and grab-and-go breakfast sandwiches.

The key lime bars here are simply divine! They’re absolutely delicious and hard to resist! The establishment is fresh and tidy, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The decor features a lovely assortment of tropical plants, which adds to the charm of the place. Amber, who knows a lot about plants, is very helpful with her care tips! I absolutely love this place!

The breakfast special is definitely worth a visit. The sausage gravy was excellent—just the right consistency, not too thin or too thick. My wife enjoyed the cheesy hashbrowns so much that she exclaimed, "These are REALLY GOOD!"

The sweets are amazing and love that they serve meals too. Picked up some chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine’s Day. They also serve sugar-free cream puffs which my mom still raves about months later after bringing her some for Christmas. My husband really enjoyed their egg salad sandwich. The owners are very friendly too. Definitely a must try in Winthrop Harbor!

We followed our noses to this delectable sweet shop. Literally, the wonderful baked goods can be detected from down the street how can one resist. Cindy Pocklington is a talented baker and very personable, gracious woman. We tried the apple bar, which was a little too spongy for our tastes, but moist and good. The muffin, on the other hand, was out of this world yummy!
