Stovells Chobham - Woking

We had a delicious meal with fantastic service. We felt, however, that the place has become a little shabby since our last visit. The table in the bar area was sticky and dirty, my wine glass at the table was covered in finger prints and the cutlery was not clean. We were surprised by this.

Amazing service from the moment you arrive until ready to leave. Food was outstanding as ever as were the Cocktails. Love it here. Will be back

Stovells has gone down hill massively, don't waste your money, rude,arrogant aggressive manager, no sommelier like there used to be, we had to beg for a drink, they were unable to cook our fillet steak correctly so it was sent back to the kitchen along with my dinner to keep warm after about 10 minutes they came back, no apology, shocking customer service and the manager took offense, he then said I'll get you the bill without offering us the desert menu, he just wanted us to leave and was just so out of order, he should not be working in hospitality! not like it used to be as we have dined here for years on special occasions and so this meal was to celebrate our anniversary and was ruined. What a shame

It has the potential to be a first class restaurant, but its not quite there yet. The staff were keen to be friendly, but seemed to be in training rather than fully trained. We wee surprised to find that, rather than keeping the wine cooler by the table, all the different bottle were kept in corner of coolers, which did not appear to be marked. The meal was very good, but we had some questions over the descriptions in the menu. A tarte tatin is an upside down apple cake, so a slice of pineapple on a piece of flat puff pastry did not meet expectation. We had a good evening, which could have been even better with a bit of attention to detail.

Great food and service; catered well for dietary requirements. Would recommend anytime.
