Bidra med feedbackDon’t bother. The owner or hostess for the lack of Better word doesn’t call you back unless you state you want to book a party of 6 or more. Waste of your time and there’s apparently. Don’t bother. Go next door and pay $10 for an amazing burger and beer....
Mise En Place had mediocre food for the price. We had the pork dumplings, mushroom and goat cheese tart, a salad with goat cheese, and the duck risotto with goat cheese. The apps were fine but I couldn't help but think they could have heated the dumplings and the tart from frozen and served them up. The duck risotto was also fine, but the sauce was too heavy and too sweet. I had a glass of prosecco it was Cupcake brand, which is what I get for a weeknight wine. There are so many good proseccos in small bottles or even cans the restaurant should do a bit of research and offer something special! We sat outside, which was fine until dusk, and then the mosquitos attacked with a vengeance. Basically, the food is fine, but not great, and they charge a lot. We also waited awhile between each course, which became annoying. This is not a restaurant for foodies. Compared to other food in Wolfboro, I can see why people give it 4 to 5 stars. But for the price, they really need to become significantly more creative.
On the positive side, the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant are charming, with a cozy setup of no more than ten tables. However, our experience quickly took a turn for the worse. We had an 8 PM reservation on New Year’s Eve, and unsurprisingly, the restaurant was busy. Unfortunately, there was only one server on duty, and she appeared to lack experience, which made things tough for her and the guests. To start, the wine glasses on our table were dirty, and we were missing a water glass, but we didn’t think much of it initially. We mentioned it to the server when she finally arrived, and we ordered cocktails. However, the wine list was shockingly inadequate for a French bistro—there are plenty of reasonably priced French wines available, yet we ended up with a 2018 Cote de Rhône that was subpar, tasting more like Listerine than anything enjoyable. From the moment we were seated, it became clear that the staff didn’t want to be working on New Year’s Eve. We felt rushed to order all our courses at once, and we prefer a more relaxed dining experience. It was disappointing to feel hurried right from the start. Our server later mentioned that the restaurant had been closed for two months, and this was their first night back. It makes you wonder why they chose to open on such a busy night. Adding to the odd experience, someone—presumably the owner—came out from the kitchen to serve food dressed in workout gear. I’m not one to judge, but perhaps a more appropriate outfit, like a nice pair of jeans, would have been better suited for the establishment. As for the food, it was quite unusual. The restaurant seems to want to present Italian cuisine rather than authentic French fare. I ordered the carbonara risotto, which was decent but a bit runny. My husband had potstickers, which were also good but strange for a French bistro. We ordered a wedge salad and a Caesar for starters; the Caesar was disappointing, and the blue cheese dressing on the wedge tasted off. For my main course, I had duck breast, which was fine but needed a better sear and was served with another risotto that was overwhelmed by goat cheese and nearly inedible. The berry compote accompanying the duck was average at best, possibly from a jar, and it was garnished with fresh blackberries and strawberries, which felt oddly placed. My husband opted for chicken piccata, and he was indifferent about it, remarking that the chicken was far too breaded and resembled chicken nuggets. We ultimately decided to skip dessert; we had reached our limit and could no longer tolerate the rushed atmosphere. Our total bill came to $250, which was ridiculous considering the quality of the food and our overall experience. We won’t be coming back. If you’re looking for a great meal in Wolfeboro, I recommend La Boca instead of this restaurant.
I had an excellent experience from the moment I started trading. The Brittany trading platform provides top-notch returns on investment and has impressive communication. I made a profit of over €20,000 from a €2,000 investment. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to profit in forex; you can reach out to her on WhatsApp at +1 (904) 544-7547 or contact her via email at [hidden email]. The food was outstanding! The waitress and her son were incredible—so friendly and helpful! We brought our twin granddaughters, and they even prepared a lovely meal just for them! This is definitely the best dining spot in Wolfeboro. Thank you for a wonderful evening! - Denise Terry
