The Royal Yew - Workington

The food is incredible and the service is excellent. It's definitely necessary to make a reservation in advance!

We had a lovely evening and decided to visit The Royal Ewe for a meal since it had been a while since our last visit. The food was top-notch and of excellent quality. We started with fish sliders and brie wedges, which were delightful. For our main courses, we enjoyed burgers—specifically the Moving Mountains veggie burger with proper chips, and a pork dish. We couldn’t resist dessert, opting for sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake, though we were too eager to dig in to take any photos. The service was outstanding, and I would definitely recommend this place for a great meal in a relaxing atmosphere.

I stopped by the pub yesterday after a day of hiking, specifically to try the cow pie! We've been wanting to sample this dish for a few years, and it did not disappoint. I only managed to eat half of it, but the meat was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, there wasn't any space left for dessert. The staff were also very friendly.

Very quaint, old inn with lots of little rooms. Lovely old original featured fire places and beams all in clean well laid out areas. Food is delicious, varied menu with good portions. All the staff are friendly and very attentive. Easy to book a table on line.
