Sanders Chocolate Ice Cream Shoppe Wyandotte

If you’re over 60 and have fond memories of Sanders Ice Cream and lunch counter, you might want to temper your expectations—you may be disappointed. While the service was attentive and the cream puff delicious, the plastic spoon struggled to cut through the puff pastry. The atmosphere? Nonexistent. The candy selection was minimal, and there was an abundance of hot fudge for sale, much like what you’d find at Kroger. I understand, though—many parents seem indifferent to their children’s behavior, and it seems that a lot of folks don’t view stealing as wrong. So, if you’re in search of a classic Sanders Ice Cream and candy counter experience, you should keep looking.

The staff at this restaurant were very friendly. I stopped in to grab a Caramel Bumpy Cake, and it was excellent!

The bumpy cake sundae is absolutely amazing! The service is top-notch, and the place is impeccably clean. They also offer a variety of cakes, fudge, and delicious candies. If you're in Wyandotte, this historical spot is a must-visit!

This place is never open. Closes early, isn’t open half of the days of the week which makes it difficult to ever even get the opportunity to get ice cream.

I want to give a HUGE shout out to the (owner manager) last night 6 2 2022!!! My husband and I were in a mad dash to make it to the store on time to purchase a Bumpy Cake for my Father-in-law's Birthday when of course, we were stopped by a train!! Ugh, so we called and when I explained to the owner we were in route, but would be arriving just a few moments after closing, he told us not to worry and that he would wait for us!! He saved the day for our Birthday Boy!!! Thank you!!!
