Bidra med feedbackThe restaurant is overpriced. I ordered a bacon sandwich and a cheese tuna melt, but both took a long time to arrive. They mistakenly brought me a cheese and mushroom melt instead, and when I asked for a correction, it took a lot of effort. The sandwich I received was cold and the coffees were weak. The total bill was over £22, but the quality of the food did not justify the high price. The restaurant's atmosphere was uncomfortably cold. I will not be returning.
If you want a decent coffee then go to one of the coffee chains on site. Staff need training in making hot non dairy drinks. Barely warm so asked for new ones that were hot. Eventually got them replaced and were now warm but the person that brought them felt the need to lecture/mansplain that non dairy drinks can’t be made hot! Starbucks, Costa, Caffè Nero but to name a few are all capable of making hot non dairy drinks and even capable of making them extra hot! More training in how to make the coffees they offer rather than putting people on that don’t really know how to make anything other than just coffee. Coffee was spilling all over the sides. Really not good and wouldn’t return or recommend.
I was at Marks and Spencer at Monks Cross in York with my partner having a coffee and a pot of tea. We didn't order any meals. After a while I started feeling shaky and my blood sugar dropped I knew I had to eat something so I ate a small salad which I had bought elsewhere and after a while I felt better. Little did we know at the time but the blonde lady called Debs who was cleaning the tables informed the manager that I was eating my own food in the restaurant to which the manager then came over and told me to stop eating but I had already finished my salad and embarrassed us in front of other customers. It was very bad of Debs to go teltailing to her manager like a child in the playground going to the head teacher. She should have approached us first and we would have told her I wasn't feeling too well instead off running to the manager like a nasty child. Beware of Debs the cleaner of the tables when you attend at this shop she will tell tales on you to the manager !!
I stopped by this restaurant while shopping for a break and lunch. Despite a queue, we were seated quickly and enjoyed our food and drinks. We had a nice window table in the corner and enjoyed our meal. My friend had a salad while I chose the seasonal toastie. We also had a cup of tea. The food was of good value, the staff were friendly, but the tables were not cleared quickly enough. However, we attributed this to the busy Christmas season on a Tuesday.
Called for coffee lunch time, wrong. Long que’s no tables cleaned only two staff taking payment and making drinks and they keep wandering off. Customers waiting long times for food. I appreciate present lack of staff but this is very poor for such a major company. I am sure some staff from other departments could be diverted to ease the congestion or close it down.
