Valhalla - York

This restaurant is perfect for grabbing a drink or a bite to eat, whatever you're in the mood for! It's always my go-to spot whenever I'm in York. I adore the atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the delicious food. It's a must-visit location just off Shambles.

Nice cosy n friendly... A good security lad keeping it this way.. top bar staff.. Themed the same as next door were we were stopping.. Brilliant cheers will be back but not christmas market time.

Second visit and it only gets better. Initially felt a bit intimidated as the security on the door would not let us in as it was full.Managed a table outside for a drink and as our numbers rose to 7 we had to request an inside table. After a short wait we were allowed in. The advantage of the restricted admission became obvious as there was no overcrowding! We enjoyed the beers and the sharing platters. All in all a great place....if you can get in that is!...Oh....and the genuine 'Vikings ' in the private function room were an added bonus!

Liked the look of the place and heard good things about the platters so we paid a visit. A well themed and cosy place with a good craft beer ale selection. The food was really tasty; would have loved to have gone for the huge platter as it looked like a great selection but for two of us it was just too much, so we opted for some tapas and it didn’t disappoint; pork pie was one of my favourites. A definite recommended stop if your in the area.

Not been to York for many years . Amazing place , food excellent and staff really friendly and knowledgeable. Will go again .
