Ye Olde Pie Sausage Shoppe - York

We tried 6 different pies and 2 Scotch eggs and we threw away a lot. None of our group liked it and we are really not picky eaters. Nowhere on our holiday did we get pie that we enjoyed so little. Unfortunately, it looked nice.

I bought some pork pies today and as a connoisseur of pork pies (and yes I have tried 1000’s) these are the absolute top. Thin crispy flavoursome pastry, moist meat and jelly, good level of fill, perfect seasoning. Brace youself for an experience, pie meister or not. I will find away in my life to order these online

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO YOUR PORK PIES! we have been coming to York for many years and always call in for Pork Pies they were always full of good meat and the pastry was crips and thin. But now the pastry is thick and doughy like bread meat has lumps of fat and is tasteless, please go back to your original recipe. Also the Parkin has changed I know everything nowadays has changed but same again please go back to your original recipe.

Visited your shop today in York and bought a delicious Steak and Ale Pie. Light, crispy pastry, large chunks of tender, flavoursome steak in a tasty ale gravy. Value for money, and the nicest pie I have eaten in such a long time! I Would strongly advise/recommend that everyone tries one of these. Lots of other mouthwatering options available that I haven't tried yet, but would love to. Thank you!

Terrible! Meat in steak pie was tender but it had zero flavor. The crust was under cooked too. Edit: the steak pie served on the airplane was 100x better than this one, lol. That tells you how bad this was. York scotch egg was super greasy and had a terrible off flavor, we tossed it.
