Bidra med feedbackThis restaurant is a wonderful spot for authentic cuisine and a fully stocked bar. Every time I've dined in or picked up from here, the service has been lively and festive. My go-to dishes are the Butter Chicken and garlic Naan bread.
I was in Yuba City running some errands and planned to have lunch afterwards. As my two previous experiences with Indian cuisine were somewhat disappointing, I had decided to give it a pass, and go for something more familiar. However, the restaurant I had originally chosen was closed, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I hadn 't seen this restaurant in my previous searches, and found it completely by accident. It was conveniently located right on the main road, so I said, What the heck? I 'm in Yuba City, and I don 't come across Indian food often, so I decided to take the risk and pop in. We weren 't too familiar with Indian cuisine, so we were kind of just taking a shot in the dark. We ordered the Lamb Karahi and Chicken Curry Kebab, which both came with a side of rice, along with some garlic flatbread. Our biggest concern was that we 'd end up going home still feeling hungry, but the portions were large enough to go home with leftovers. We ordered both dishes mild . The spice level on the Chicken Curry was just right, but the Lamb Karahi was hotter than I expected. It was yummy, but a bit too hot to finish in one sitting. Thankfully, the woman who took our order, which I 'm assuming is the owner, was really friendly and asked us if we want takeout boxes, and even gave us a bag to put them in. She also brought us all our change, even though we wanted to leave it as a tip. In total, we paid just over $37.00 for everything, which I felt was reasonable by today 's standards. The price of each meat type is the same, no matter how you get it done, which I thought it was really nice. Some of the dishes are served in traditional Indian bowls, but the owner had no qualms about bringing us extra plates. The ambience of the place also wasn 't bad, though it looked like it was a lot nicer, before COVID. When you enter, go into the bar area to be seated, as the buffet area currently isn 't operating. I easily give this place a 5. There is very little to complain about, and I was pleased that I finally found an Indian place that does Indian food right. I guess third time really IS the charm.
Excellent selection of food dishes, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very clean and spacious environment. Lots of various tables to choose from to sit and eat very flavorful cuisine. You can have large parties to solo. Very nice decor, food to go, full bar and lots of TVs to watch. Restrooms, parking lot and child booster seats. Go enjoy this great restaurant and easy to see off main hwy. Went again Wed night Buffet. Still serving excellent food with great service and very clean. Last night took our Sister she loved everything, as we do.
Here’s what I ordered: - **Shahi Paneer**: The crushed wiper was an interesting twist, but ultimately it lacked flavor. I’d give it 2/5. - **Lamb Biryani**: I instantly regretted this choice. The meat was overcooked and surprisingly bland. I’d rate it 1/5. - **Butter Chicken**: This was the standout dish of the three, but still just average. I’d give it 3/5. The roti and naan were decent, but for a total of $50? I won’t be returning.
As for the food, the channa masala was overly greasy and lacked flavor, and the paneer also tasted bland. I would definitely recommend looking for better dining options elsewhere.
