Rumaisa - Zanzibar

Very nice place. Descent, affordable and close to the port for ferry and stone town activities.

Stayed here for a night it's comfortable not that fancy.. a pretty basic hotel but it's conveniently very close to the port if you need to take a ferry out the next morning. The staff at breakfast were very friendly and accommodating. They also managed to get us a baby cot despite not having a prior booking so that was a big plus point for us.

We booked a seaview room but when we arrived and paid for the accommodation the reception lady said that the room is already busy. They offered a bigger room though. There wasn't hot water available even though they have a heater. The room was dirty, in the bathroom we found remainings of someone's hair and so on. They offered no shampoo, no shower gel, only a soap. Instead of the sea view you will see just unattractive rooftops of the nearby buildings. The so-called restaurant is just an open area with tables dirty as the rest of the hotel and they surve no food, breakfast only. The surrounding is a bit tough (port area and container terminal but close to the center (10 minutes walk, Stone Town is a small city). I would rate this accommodation fairly at 20 USD max but not 50 USD that we had to pay. The stuff is helpful but when we talk about dirty room and no hot water for 50 USD it matters not unfortunately. Extremely disappointed.

For me it's really nice. our room is very clean (every day room service) and nice. first we wanted to stay 2 nights, but we took 6 nights including wonderful breakfast. the localization is great.

This hotel has a good reputation. Maybe not in the best area of the city, but for us it was ideal. 15 minutes from the airport. 5 star treatment in addition. Amazing breakfast buffet that introduces me to new food mango smoothes. The hosts are super nice. When we came back from our trip to another village hotel, they allowed us to take a shower, helped us a lot in terms of the transport of the city woabouts. I am so grateful that I will always recommend this hotel.
