Shawshank Redemption Restaurant-Bar

We were looking for a late lunch and came across them across the street from Ruben's awe ad their vegetable soup and fish tacos durados. My wife proclaimed their soup was the best in the world! :) The chef Juan is from the Sunscape ? Hotel and his dishes were prepared with flare. Service from Yose was very good.We'll be back for sure.

During a recent stay at Hotel Irma in Zihuatanejo, I had occasion to dine at Shawshank twice. Had marlin and red snapper, both of which were excellent. Service was attentive and one evening they had live entertainment.

Shawshank is expanding its hours and food service. The wait staff is very efficient and caring. Menu is well thought out with good options. Quality of food is top notch.It sounds like they will soon add breakfast. We'll be back for dinner and look forward to breakfast soon as well.

This bar is out of business and no longer exists under this name. So I don't recommend coming here if you are interested in the theme of the movie that ends in this nice little fishing village.

Shawshank Redemption is a wonderful bar/restaurant. Tiko (aka Alberto) and his wife are super nice people who will do almost anything to make your experience pleasant. Along with many other wonderful restaurants on Calle Adelito in Zihuatanejo, this one is a must try!
