The Village Cafe - Aiken

I really enjoy visiting this place! It's conveniently located next to my workplace, and I appreciate being able to pop in for something fresh to eat—whether it's sandwiches, salads, or breakfast, everything is fantastic!

I can only give this place 2 stars because there is one young woman who is always very pleasant whenever I visit. She takes the time to explain the menu and inform me about the specials! Unfortunately, I've had consistently negative experiences with an older woman who also works there. My most recent encounter with her was particularly disappointing. When I began to order my coffee, she immediately turned around and poured whole milk into my cup without even waiting for me to specify what I wanted.

The waitress just refunded our meal because of the long wait and even gave my daughter a cookie before consulting her manager. While this doesn't change my overall past experiences, I must say I'm impressed with the level of customer service and attentiveness. She was blonde and very kind, which stood out to me, so I wanted to mention it! They deserve an extra star for that. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is my fourth visit to this café, and I’ve been let down each time. From incorrect coffee orders to lengthy wait times, it's been a consistently disappointing experience.

So so good. What a nice surprise off the beaten path. The tomato bisque was great but the highlight was the Salmon BLT. High quality, clean ingredients. Super cute place if you're ever lucky enough to visit Aiken

I had lunch at your restaurant today with my 14-year-old daughter. She ordered the smoked salmon salad, while I opted for the grilled vegetable salad. We both enjoyed a cup of the daily soup, which was chicken and wild rice. We each had a bottled water, and I also had a glass of wine. Everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful. I'm giving you 5 stars, but I did feel that the prices were a bit high for a counter-service setup where we had to take our dirty dishes to the dish tub and trash area. Our meal exceeded $40, especially considering that the glass of wine was around $9, which seems steep for a self-service drink. I understand that you focus on local "farm to table" ingredients, which can contribute to higher costs. I wish you all the best in your new venture!
