Mess Hall - Averill Park

I had breakfast at this restaurant the other day and it was delicious. The special was French toast and it was amazing. We also tried their bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches, which were excellent. The home fries were really tasty as well. However, the standout dish was the cornmeal pancake with a crispy exterior. It tasted just like the best part of a grilled corn muffin.

This is definitely the best chicken sandwich (Jammin' Jenny) we have had in the capital region. We also enjoyed the Greek pita, which we usually find to be quite mediocre at most places. The prices are great for the quality of food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The decor is more modern and current than most restaurants in the area.

I had lunch with friends at the mess hall today and I ordered the Jammin' Jenny sandwich. The chicken was crispy on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside. I also had the Macaroni salad as my side which was delicious and paired well with the sandwich. The mess hall is a bit off the beaten path, but it's definitely worth the trip. The interior is small, but many people just order and take their food to go, or enjoy it at the picnic tables outside. I will definitely be back!

Great eating, service loves the military tribute for all forces! wish that they offered t-shirts or tassen for sale.

First visit. Food was plentiful and excellent. My chicken sandwich was crispy and very juicy. Service was excellent. Will definitely return.
