Good classic sushi, quiet with attentive waiting staff

I found a few stands of hair in the To Go order. When I returned to talk to the server to alert it, she was not worried.

I used to live in Japan, and I enjoyed this restaurant for the ambiance and for the selection, which included some food that I don't usually see in Japanese restaurants (karaage, etc. but that I associate with my experience in Japan. That was fun! The desserts were also noteworthy the panna cotta especially is outstanding.

We arrived at the restaurant early (6:00 PM on a weeknight), so it was quiet, which we appreciated. The restaurant had a stylish atmosphere and was located in a great neighborhood. However, the food was mediocre. We ordered the green beans gomaae, spring rolls, and crunchy spicy tuna, salmon avocado, and california rolls, but everything was too salty and mushy. The service was okay, but not exceptional - our food arrived quickly, but we didn't see our waiter again for water refills and had to ask for the check. Overall, it was an unremarkable experience and not a place we would choose to revisit.
