Vue Rooftop - Calumet-Norvelt

Based on the reviews I guess I expected a little more in terms of the ambiance. I stayed at the Hotel Washington so the Vue was a super convenient elevator ride to the rooftop I would say the ambiance is leaning a bit more towards casual rather than formal or sophisticated. The views are...well, yes, you see views of the White House and the National Monument. For some reason I had a different impression of how the views would look. Since the Vue comes up as the highest rated rooftop lounge/bar in Washington, I'd suggest checking it out to get a skyline view of the city although I can't see myself coming back here again as there are so many other awesome lounges/bars in the city. In any case, our waiter was friendly. Other wait staff brought incorrect food to our table twice though....we had cocktails and I thought the cocktails were really well balanced so that's a big positive!

Best view in DC! Good offerings are ok but to come and experience the setting and drink, it's superb! What's also amazing is that they accept reservations. I'm definitely coming back.

Gorgeous place, stunning view to see Washington D.C, good drinks, decent appetizers and very expensive.

Good vienna lager. Would recommend going during happy hour from 3-5pm. A little pricy but not considering the view. Gratuity/tip is included on the bill.

Beautiful view, but something is missing: the service. When I arrived, the receptionist was not at the reception. Then she told me to find a table by myself, which is rude because you expect this person to show you the table. I seated. After 10 min, no one came. So I took some pictures, walked around and left. I recommend the staff go to a school and learn how to provide great customer service when you have a place like this: capital city, nice view and historic building...and of course this pricing level.
