Friendly staff, prompt service and a great place to sit and study. Staff always kept me informed when new coffee being breed meant a short wait. Staff have gone above and beyond.

I had a wonderful experience at this café! The coffee was excellent, and the iced Americano was particularly delightful. The service was also very friendly. I purchased some beans that they freshly ground for me, and they tasted fantastic.

Although there was a bit of a line, we decided to wait because of all the great reviews we had read. We ordered a medium iced oat latte (half ice) and an espresso over ice with heavy cream, and our bill came to $16 for the two drinks, which felt a bit pricey. When we asked about the high bill, the most “qualified” staff member explained that we were charged for an additional latte and also for the cream, which still left me confused. With the line growing behind us, we just decided to go along with it. When the iced latte arrived, it was a large size with only a couple of ice cubes. I asked if she could remake it as a medium with more ice since the large seemed excessive for a latte. She looked a bit puzzled as I tried to clarify what I thought had happened. Thankfully, she was friendly and did remake it as a medium. Unfortunately, the espresso was absolutely undrinkable; it was painfully bitter. We tried to force down a few sips, but ultimately gave up and poured it out in the parking lot. I honestly couldn't believe espresso could taste that bad. Overall, it was not a great experience.

As a comparison, I visited the pricey tourist spot of Quadra Island today and had an amazing latte from Aroma Cafe that only cost $5—quite a contrast to the $16 we were charged for this terrible drink at “Serious Coffee.” They might want to consider renaming it to “Comically Coffee”!
