Head Tide Oven - Damariscotta

The sourdough and pastries here are fantastic! I'm especially fond of the raisin walnut bread and the lemon bars.

Unfortunately, Head Tide Oven will not be open this season (2020). However, from my experiences in previous seasons, I can confidently say that they offer the best bread in the county. They have surpassed Borealis, which still makes excellent bread but operates on a larger scale. I truly hope Head Tide returns in 2020 and isn’t permanently affected by the SARS-COV-2 pandemic.

Phenomenal fresh bread! I've bought loaves of their baguette and their country white sourdough and both were great. If you're looking for delicious artisan bread, this is the place. It seems like their focus is more on bread than pastries, but they do have pies, cookies, lemon bars, and a few other things. I haven't had a chance to try any of those yet.
