Mel's Diner - Essington

The owner was very friendly, and the place was very clean. The food and coffee were excellent! The prices are also great, but keep in mind that they only accept cash. However, it wasn't crowded at all. I will definitely come back.

This is a classic old-school diner offering delicious food and outstanding service. I ordered the English breakfast, and it arrived quickly, with generous portions and great flavor. It’s excellent value for the price. The service was impeccable and attentive; my coffee cup was always full, and my table was promptly cleared of empty plates, yet I never felt rushed. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a traditional diner—perfect for filming a 70s sitcom. It operates on a cash-only basis, but there’s an ATM on-site for convenience. Plus, it's conveniently located near the airport and is significantly cheaper and better than anything you'd find at the terminal.

Fantastic diner! The French toast is incredible and while the exterior may not seem impressive, the interior is impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. The waitress was friendly and attentive. I've been to many diners, including several in New Jersey that are famous for their diners, and this one definitely ranks among the best!

Came up from Macon Georgia on our annual baseball trip visiting different parks. Choose Mel's for breakfast. Couldn't have chosen a better place. Everything was home made. Great sausage. Great omelette. Totally recommend. ß
